Component-optimized temperature control of the tool by Listemann is a must in order to achieve optimal part quality with a short cycle time.
HOME Areas of application Mould & Tool Making
For many years, we have been offering the tool & die-makers the possibility of easily incorporating contour-guided temperature control channel systems into individual mould parts. At Listemann these individual parts can be joined and simultaneously hardened by vacuum-brazing. Electron beam welding (EBW) can also be used as an option.
If an injection mold is made from a single piece, the disadvantage is that the contour of the plastic mold can only be approximately provided with cooling channels. On the other hand, the near-contour temperature control allows the cooling channel to be milled as close as possible to the plastic mold. The prerequisite for this, however, is that both tool parts can then be joined tightly again. Listemann is a long-standing specialist in the field of vacuum brazing of plastic injection moulds and will be happy to assist you in the design of the tools.
A brazing process of injection molds is always designed in such a way that the brazing temperature corresponds to the actual austenitization temperature (hardening temperature) of the tool steel. The subsequent rapid cooling causes the hardness structure to develop, which can then be started again. The result is a finished tool that only needs to be finalized.
The production of near-contour temperature-controlled tools usually requires further steps in the production chain. For example, the material should be stress-relieved beforehand. The release of tensions before the soldering process is a basic prerequisite for low distortion during heat treatment and thus also for the tightness of the soldered seam. However, deformations that may occur during stress-relieving annealing must also be compensated for before the soldering process. This is done by surface grinding of the soldering surface. Listemann takes care of this entire process chain for you – simplifying the processes for you.
The large number of different materials for mould making requires in-depth knowledge in the field of soldering materials. Depending on the environment in which the tool is to work, more or less noble joining materials come into question. Listemann is therefore happy to accompany you early in the design phase of a tool so that the basic prerequisites for later success are created.
Meeting company, national and international standards is not just a compulsory task for Listemann. Rather, it is our conviction that only secure business processes ensure our competitiveness and customer benefit.
